What is the proper etiquette for addressing envelopes?

Should I use a calligrapher?
This is a personal choice, although I believe people love receiving hand addressed mail. Adding calligraphy will compliment your invitations, and be a great personal touch for your guests.

How much will my postage cost?

My friend had her invitations hand cancelled, what is that?

Most of our mail is canceled by machines, but if the envelope is heavier than usual, the machine can sometimes damage it. That's why some couples decide to have their invitations hand cancelled. This would mean a USPS employee would use a hand stamp to cancel you envelopes and stamps, instead of running it through the machine. It helps prevent the damage that can sometimes occur. Keep in mind, not all post offices will offer this service, and it is not a guarantee that nothing will happen to the envelopes in transit.

Can you design custom postage?
Yes! When we have our initial consultation we can discuss if you would like this option or not. Custom postage can be 2-3 times more expensive than postage designed by the USPS.

When should I mail my save the dates?
Your save the dates should be mailed 6-8 months prior to your celebration.
If you are having a destination, or holiday wedding we recommend considering sending them out 8-12 months in advance.

Your invitation suite should be mailed 6-8 weeks prior to your celebration.

What does bespoke mean?
Bespoke means every aspect of the design process is tailored to your specifications. We do not use templates, and pride ourselves on creating unique designs for our couples, designed for them from start to finish.

How much is the investment in custom wedding invitations?
Custom invitations are specifically tailored to you and you have the opportunity to be involved in the design process. The final price of your invitations can vary greatly based on the paper, types of printing, and how many inclusions your invitations contain (RSVP, direction, information cards, etc.). All wedding packages start at a minimum of $750, which can include a combination of invitations, save the dates, and day of paper details.

Can you design all the paper items for my event?
Yes, we are a full-service company. We will create your save-the-dates. invitations, and any other paper details you need for your big day, such as menus, table numbers, programs, signs, favor tags, escort cards, and anything else paper related you can imagine.

How many invitations should I order?
Remember, the number of invitations is not equal to the number of guests on your list. Invitations are 1 per household, with the exception of children over 18 living in the home - they also get their own invitation. I recommend ordering 10 extras for last minute guests, keepsakes, and samples for the photographer to use. It is better to order too many than too few.

When will I receive my invitations to send to my guests?
During our consultation, we’ll work backwards from your wedding date to project a delivery and mail date. The exact turnaround time is dependent on the complexity of your invitation design, proofing, and how quickly you’re able to give me feedback. Since your invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks before your wedding (or sooner), and invitations usually take 2-3 months to complete, I recommend having our initial consultation 5-6 months before you wedding, or sooner if you are looking to have custom save the dates.
